SHOOTING USA FEATURED PRODUCT:
SunBuster Shooting Glasses

Every Shooter and Hunter needs eye protection, but not just any eye protection. Our choice is The SunBuster Sport Enhancement System. And while they are not as well known as some other brands, SunBusters are specifically designed for shooting. Here’s what nobody else will tell you. In a wrap-around lens there will be distortion somewhere, and clear vision only in a portion of the lens. The big name guys put the clear view portion in the center of their lenses, because they’ve got track stars and football coaches wearing their glasses. But that doesn’t work for shooters, we look through the top portion of the lens when sighting. And that’s where SunBusters places the precision portion of their lenses, made specifically for shooting. With the other brands, you’re getting some distortion.
SunBusters are the choice of Bianchi and Three Gun champion, Bruce Piatt, so you can be sure Bruce knows the secrets of seeing clearly to win. Bruce also has the same problem a number of us have, he wears corrective lenses, and SunBusters has the best solution we’ve seen for those of us who wear glasses. And the prescription insert works for hunters, too. Bird hunters can’t turn their faces up to look at the birds without exposing their face to the birds. The raised prescription lenses allow hunters to look up by raising only their eyes and still have the needed prescription to see.
Prescription lenses are attached to the nose piece, so you can quickly switch to any of the five lens colors included in the kit and still see. Each color matches a specific shooting situation. For example, the light purple lenses work great for trap shooting on sunny days. Bruce Piatt uses the vermillion colored lenses for shooting the black X-ring in Bianchi Competition.
The SunBuster system comes with five lens colors, with additional lens colors available. Shooting USA’s bird hunter, Mike Irvine switches between the light yellow and orange plus, to pick drakes from hens on cloudy days in the duck blind. On bright sunny days, the dark green lenses help hide a hunters face while providing good outlines and body definitions on game animals.
There are two styles. The Dude and The Maverick. Both Bruce Piatt and Mike Irvine prefer the Maverick. Either style is $150 for the hard-case set. Then your prescription insert is separately ordered, using information from your optometrist.
The optometrist will also provide SunBuster with your eye and nose placement guaranteeing your prescription inserts will be placed in the right location for your eyes. |
